Finance Committee

The finance committee deals with the management of funds for the MWCC.  These committee members are engaged with Invest in Neighborhoods, Neighborhood Support Program, the city of Cincinnati, and other independent funding sources as they relate to the MWCC.  Grant writing skills are also welcome here.

Please contact Jo Ann with any questions or to express interest in the finance committee.

Membership Committee

Christy Vonderschmidt is heading up the group and actively looking for welcoming individuals to help promote membership in the community council. The committee supports outreach efforts to increase volunteering. Individuals can make a real difference by approaching community members and promoting a positive image of the Mt. Washington community. If you have not been involved and have some great ideas, this may be your opportunity.

Christy is currently seeking volunteers to fill and distribute our Mt. Washington welcome bags which are given to new residents and/or bake cookies or other snacks for the MWCC member meetings.

She also has Mt. Washington t-shirts for sale which feature the water tower and the "MW" logo.

Please contact Christy with any questions, to express interest in the membership committee, volunteer to help with the welcome bags or baking, or to buy a t-shirt.

The membership committee meets every first Tuesday of the month in the recreation center from 9am to 11am.

The Neighborhood Improvement Committee

The Neighborhood Improvement Committee addresses quality of life issues.  There are four existing subcommittees.

   1. Safety: Addresses high 'Police Calls For Service' to specific apartment complexes and the business district.

   2. Graffiti: Eliminates graffiti as soon as observed while recording and reporting to proper authorities.

   3. Buildings: Puts pressure on owners of abandoned buildings - one at a time - by letter and City Departments for enforcement.

   4. Welcome Packets: Assemble, promote and maintain distribution of the 'Welcome to MW' packets to new home owners.

Please contact Margaret Stigler with any questions or to express interest in the neighborhood improvement committee.

Community Events Committee

The community events committee is involved with the ideation, planning, and implementation of community events that happen around Mt. Washington.  The Sounds of Stanbery event in July is planned as an annual gathering in Stanbery Park where residents can enjoy live music and drinks.  This committee is always seeking new ideas and interested volunteers to develop more events.

Please contact Cheryl with any questions, ideas, or to express interest in the community events committee.

Implementation Committee

As a stakeholder in the future our neighborhood, and a participant in the development of the Mt. Washington Comprehensive Plan, you will be excited to hear that the MWCC has announced the creation of the Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee.

The implementation committee works to realize the newly created Mt. Washington Comprehensive Plan.  This committee is currently seeking volunteers who are interested in making tangible changes for the better in Mt. Washington.

Meetings are held Monthly:

When:

7:00pm on Wednesday (2nd Wed. each Month)

Where:

Mt. Washington Recreation Center

1715 Beacon Street

Hard copies of the FINAL PLAN will be available and discussion will include a variety of topics including not only the IDEAS that have been proposed, but the methods for funding, planning, and coordinating volunteers that are going to MAKE

THESE IDEAS A REALITY.

Please contact Jake with any questions, ideas, or to express interest in the implementation committee.

Communications and Newsletter Committee

This committee works to better communicate with Mt. Washington residents by keeping this web site updated, publishing an online newsletter and other online news alerts, and by publishing a printed newsletter twice a year.  Volunteers to help with these tasks are always welcome.

Please contact Scott with any questions and ideas, or to express some other interest in the communications committee.
